Why I Love Las Vegas...
Few places can give me a rush by the mere mention of its name like Las Vegas can. Whether you know it by Las Vegas, Sin City or the City that doesn't sleep, this is one of the few places to visit that actually has it all. Imagine the vibrant lights of the strip, the throngs of people made up of bachelor and bachelorettes, families and businessmen. There is no other city that exudes this kind of glitz, glamour and excitement.
Where else can you go to play a hand of black jack, take a ride on a roller coaster, witness the spectacular view from the Eiffel Tower, take in a show, eat at a five star restaurant and end the day by having Elvis perform a wedding ceremony?
Las Vegas is known for having the best food in the world. No matter what my palate craved, this is the place to find it, no matter what the hour. Las Vegas offers a variety of culinary wonders to choose from, with everyone's budget in mind. I indulged in the meatloaf at Spago's, had Emeril create a Creole explosion and enjoyed a simple, yet delectable buffet, where I could dine all day or night for under twenty dollars.
If I was impressed with the food, I had no idea what else I was in store for. Imagine being able to travel the world all through a trip to Las Vegas. I was able to enjoy a relaxing gondola ride at the Venetion, sample authentic pastries at the Paris and was amazed by the skyline view of Las Vegas atop the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas.
Who can visit Las Vegas, without trying their hand at a bit of gambling. The sound of the slot machines were music to my ears and lured me in for some fun and excitement. Whether your tastes run high society, or you prefer a more casual setting, some of my favorite gaming pits to try were the Las Vegas Club because of the inexpensive gaming, great odds, stupendous drink service, dealers in costume and a stripper pole in the center. If you want a more traditional place to play black jack, or some other form of gaming, try the Bellagio.
Entertainment runs rampant in Las Vegas. I was blown away by the acrobatics and entertainment of Mystere Cirue du Soleil. I also heard the revamped Criss Angel "Believe" show was a must to see. The man did not disappoint. Not only was I impressed with the levitation, disappearance and illusions, but the narrative gave it a personal touch. A few other popular must see shows are Blue Man Group, The Lion King, Cirque's O and Love and of course, Cher.
Not only did Las Vegas fulfill my penchant for gambling, fine cuisine and the freedom to let go and enjoy the night life, but the city is an ideal location for my love of the outdoors. Red Rock Canyon is less than a half hour's drive from the Las Vegas strip and is the perfect place for rock climbing. I also found Valley of Fire a great place to hike and if skiing is your passion, try Mt. Charleston. The Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Zion Canyon National Park are all a few hours away from the city of Las Vegas.
I also found Las Vegas to be a family friendly place. There's plenty to do at the resort pools, spend time at M&M World, GameWorks and the animal habitats at MGM Grand, Mirage and the Flamingo. Circus Circus is also a fun place with it's indoor amusement park and arcade games.
Las Vegas is the perfect city where you have the freedom to do the things that you have only dreamed about doing.
It was a bit difficult to give you all the relevant Las Vegas info on one single page. One thing I should/could do is adding more pages on this website, but life is pretty busy lately. Nevertheless I bundled some interesting links as they go more in detail on some subjects. Really worth reading!
